The dialog on the morning talk shows was all about Harry Reid, and MSNBC was no exception. At issue is the release of the book, “Game Change,” by John Heilmann and Mark Halperin, and the controversial comment made by Senator Harry Reid (D-NV). Reid made comments about Barack Obama as being “light- skinned and having no “negro dialect”.

Unlike Republican’s lack of support for former Senator Trent Lott (R-MS) in 2002, which lead to his removal as senate majority leader the Democrats seem to be supportive of Senator Reid. Both Sen Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Barbara Lee (Leader of the CDC) were supportive of Reid on Monday. Jonathon Capehart of the Washington Post supported Reid on “Way To Early” Whether or not, Reid will be able to sustain a continued poor approval rating or his Majority Leader Status after the election remains to be seen.

Quite frankly, I am dismayed.   There are so many issues that Opinion writers could be writing about!   Health care reform?   The War In Iraq (is that over because I hardly see anything written about it anymore), the Financial Crisis?  They simply are not interested!   They are interested in, quite shockingly, is whether or not Eminem took ass to the face during the MTV Movie Awards!   In addition, Eugene Robinson continues his long extended love affair with everything Barack Obama and the right of center opinion pieces are just thrown together mashups of everythingt hat is wrong with doing anything for the people.

I would like to give a shoutout to Jonathon Capehart though who does do a VERY BRIEF mention of the US Supreme Court ruling on “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”  For more information, on an issue that really matters considering the amount of money the American people spend to train these people, I am including a video from “The Rachel Maddow Show,” with the Op-Ed pieces.

The week begins exactly where last week came to an end — the financial crisis.  Barack Obama is set to take the stage on Tuesday evening giving a Press Conference regarding the current financial meltdown that will air in primetime.   Jonathon Capehart, in a curiously on the point op-ed states,  ”Obama must teach the people what is going on in the financial sector.”  Capehart goes on to say that he should use all those graphs, pointers, clipboards, and slides that simply annoyed the heck out of us in High School. Be that as it may, with immense media chatter over a failed 60 Minutes interview, and continued questioning of Tim Geithner, Obama must show that he knows where the meat is on the bare bones of financial reality.
