Must Read Blogs and Op-Eds — March 17, 2009
I have long since stated that the problem with our economy is the fact that the United States makes very minimal products on our own. The few products that we are making — mainly automobiles — are on the verge of collapse and bankruptcy. Since WWII, the US has engaged in buy everything for cheap from foreign countries policy, often referred to in private circles as the “China Effect”. However, Former President Bush (love saying that) exacerbated matters by allowing many of our home grown customer service jobs to be shipped to India just so companies could save a buck. I feel that in order for the economy to get on the right foot we need to engage in a process of bringing home not only our troops, but many of our service oriented jobs. This would create job openings and job creation by limiting outsourcing stimulating the economy. The biggest war being fought at the moment is the war on the American people, and let us hope Obama realizes this and begins to solve it in his first 100 days.
