SMACKDOWN on MSNBC
I normally would not write anything to support Chris Matthews. I find him to be repugnant and often one of the chief attack dogs against anything feminine. He brutalized Hillary Clinton during the Democratic Primary Season and eventually was forced to apologize on his show, “Hardball”. The attacks against Senator Clinton involved personal attacks against her sexuality, not policy, as noted by Katie Couric during her nightly news segment. However, the McCain campaign attacks on Matthews and others in the media, is unjustified and unwarranted regarding Governor Palin. The Media (for the most part) in this case has been actually asking policy questions not personal attacks towards her character.
Rachel Maddow (the new host of MSNBC’s 9pm hour, “The Rachel Maddow Show”) on her 9/3/8 Air America broadcast brought up several pertinent points. She questions the McCain campaign’s spurious claims of sexism when scrutinizing Palin’s record as a politician.
Here are the questions the MSM are asking, where Rachel questions the sexism charges:
1. Abuse of Power as Governor of Alaska
2. 180 degree reversal on the “Bridge to Nowhere”
3. Earmark crusader when she ran Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc.
4. Her husband courting a political party that wishes to succeed from the Union
5. She attends a church that believes Israel deserves terrorism because they are Jews that do not worship Jesus.
Rachel makes a valid point in asking whether or not it is sexist to believe that a woman cannot handle the same scrutiny over their record as a man.

In this video, you will see the exchange between Chris Matthews and Pat Buchanan. Michelle Bernard argues the difference between the Tabloid Media (which is far from Left) and the MSM. Also, she believes (as Rachel implies) that not asking her the same questions as a man would be insulting.
I agree with both Rachel Maddow and Michelle Bernard. Sarah Palin, as the VP Candidate for President of the United States should answer questions that any man would be asked. The possible belief that she cannot answer the questions or cannot handle the scrutiny is the sexism that exists here. Will we see Palin on “Meet the Press,” or on any channel that is not noticeably right friendly (that would be Fox News BTW)? As a voter, I (as well as every other American citizen) deserve answers to many of these questions and reversals.
