Iran Agrees to Nuke Inspections, Clinton Remains Skeptical #iran #iranwatch
The Obama Administration broke away from policies of the prior administration as the United States showed its commitment to engage with Iran on its nuclear policy. Despite the positive comments Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s statement appeared hopeful and skeptical.
“I will count it as a positive sign when it moves from gestures and engagements to actions and results,” she said. “That’s a necessary pathway and I think we’re on it. We’ve always said we would engage. But we’re not talking for the sake of talking,” she said, adding, “Today’s meeting opened the door, but let’s see what happens.”
Iran has agreed to let UN inspectors have access to their Uranian plants during the month of October, and has agreed to further talks with the P6+1 later in the month.
