From the AP:
WASHINGTON – Sen. Max Baucus’ decision to release his long-awaited health care overhaul bill with no Republicans on board dims the chances for a bipartisan compromise on President Barack Obama‘s top domestic priority.
The Senate Finance Committee chairman insisted Tuesday that he’ll keep negotiating with the three Republicans and two fellow Democrats who’ve been in closed-door talks with him for months on the bill he was to reveal Wednesday. Baucus, D-Mont., said he hopes that by the time the committee votes on the bill, as early as next week, Republicans will be there.

Politico is covering a story regarding infighting between Pelosi and Hoyer. Hoyer told reporters on Tuesday Night that a bill without a public option might pass the house. He was side straddled by Pelosi, who proclaimed that a bill without a public option will not pass the House of Rep’s. I wonder who is going to pay Pelosi off to change her tune?

FACT CHECK: OBAMA uses IFFY math on deficit pledge: The AP is reporting on Barack Obama’s health care reform plan. They are still quoting the CBO’s findings in July. However, let us note that there is still not a bill on the table, so we really have no clue on how much is being spent or not.

President Barack Obama took to the stage to really support for health care reform by focusing on two primary issues — no taxes primarily funded by middle class families and an all out attack on insurance companies that continue to raise rates, have increased profit margins, and provide lower quality service to consumers. Obama stuck to his midsummer time table stating he is rushed because he receives lettrs everyday from families clobbered by health care.

Obama On Health Care Priority: Reuters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama said on Wednesday a healthcare overhaul was central to his economic recovery effort and vowed to push reforms through this year, as he scrambled to overcome doubts about the plan in Congress.
“If we do not control these costs, we will not be able to control our deficit,” Obama said in excerpts of prepared remarks for his opening statement at a prime-time news conference to be held later on Wednesday.
Obama was set to take his case to the American public for a broad healthcare revamp even as congressional leaders struggled to find common ground on the cost and scope of a proposal that the president has made his top legislative priority.
“As we rescue this economy from a full-blown crisis, we must rebuild it stronger than before. And health insurance reform is central to that effort,” Obama said.
“I have also pledged that health insurance reform will not add to our deficit over the next decade — and I mean it,” Obama added.
Obama, whose healthcare reform drive faces opposition from some of his fellow Democrats as well as many opposition Republicans, said the debate must not be “consumed in the game of politics.”
“We will pass reform that lowers cost, promotes choice, and provides coverage that every American can count on. And we will do it this year,” he said.

My comment: If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. We don’t want Canada’s fiasco. Wait and wait months with a life threatening illness before you finally get the surgery. We don’t want Medicare money distributed to those who didn’t earn it: ie the illegal immigrants, those who don’t want it in the first place, etc. We don’t want–”Survival of the Fittest”. So whatever you do, it won’t cut it–just leave it alone. Of course, reform it and none of you clowns will be re-elected. By then the trial of what you want to happen will and utter cayous will ensue!
I already did!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi, I have emailed AARP to discontinue my membership since they are supporting the new health care reform bill. I have emailed all my senators, congressmen and everyone in the House. I have also emailed President and Mrs. Obama. If there is anything else I can do, please let me know. I am so upset by this. I have also emailed everyone I know and told them to do the same.
Oh, I emailed Fred Thompson too, because I heard Betsy McCaughey speak on his show and emailed that also.
Please respond,
Respectfully,
Penny Fontana

Health care is already being rationed – not by the government, but by the Insurance Industry. Let’s take our health care into the 21st century and provide appropriate care for all our citizens. We are for passage of the health care plan as presented by Obama and Congress. Let’s stop scaring people and allow our representatives to get on with other business by getting this passed and done.
